Matt Matsuoka’s COLORING POSTERBOOKS are here!
You probably know Matt Matsuoka from one of his music, video, or podcast projects. Even if you don’t, you may still have seen his distinctive art style on various show flyers and music releases over the years, especially if you live in the Pacific NW.
He’s featured prominently here at Nobody’s Nose, for a good reason. Nobody’s Nose is essentially a continuation of Excursion Records, the record label I started in 1990. My first release on Excursion was a 7” vinyl record by a band called 10:07, for which Matt sang and played guitar. Starting there and going forward through all of the years since, Matt has been a constant presence and continuous source of inspiration in my life. I have been blessed with three decades of hearing about his schemes and then sharing in their creation in some way. Over the years, so many of our conversations have started with the phrase, “what do you think of this idea?” A number of those pitches have made it past the talking stage to become a movie, a video, a podcast, or a piece of art, but believe me, there have been many fantastic ideas that never saw the light of day. Or perhaps have only yet to be birthed into an unsuspecting world. I always hold out hope for the latter.
So I was thrilled recently when Matt informed me he had completed work on a new type of coloring book with pages that would combine into a massive poster that he planned to publish through Amazon’s print-on-demand platform. Even better was when he showed me that he had three of these books completed and available for purchase.
So purchase them I did. And you should too, because they are very cool.
